1. The use and fitting of retro-reflective materials on life-saving appliances

1.1 Lifeboats and rescue boats

1.2 Liferafts

1.3 Lifebuoys

1.4 Rescue apparatus

1.5 Life jackets

1.6 Immersion suits

 

Retro-reflective material must be fitted as to be highly visible for search from air and surface craft from all directions even in residual light.

 

The specifications of retro-reflective materials supplied by HYGRAPHA comply with reguirements for application to flexible or rigid surfaces of life-saving appliances to assist in their detection.

 

2. In addition, self adhesive retro-reflective pipe marking and signal tapes are used for occupational safety purposes throughout the ship

 

IMPORTANT: Retro-refelective tapes need to be distinguished as follows.

 

Type I: Retro-reflective materials not for continuous outdoor exposure.

 

Type II: Retro-reflective materials, highly weather-resistant for continuous outdoor exposure.
