Ship Security (ISPS) (하이그라파 보안장비)

The Diplomatic Conference on Maritime Security held in London in December 2002 adopted new provisions in SOLAS 2004 and the ISPS Code to enhance maritime security.

These new mandatory requirements form the international framework in which ships and port facilities can cooperate to detect and deter acts which threaten security in the maritime transport sector.

Chapter V was amended and Chapter XI of SOLAS was re-identified as Chapter XI-1. A new Chapter XI-2 on special measures to enhance maritime security was adopted.

Both provisions became mandatory on 1 July 2004.

Although the ISPS Code does not stipulate specific security equipment, if the need is identified and implemented, such equipment must be able to fulfil the objectives - depending on type and size of ship and/or port facility - of the ISPS-Code, namely:

- To detect and deter acts which threaten security in the maritime transport sector, both on board ships and at terminals in port.

In addiiton to the detection, deterrent and personnel protection security equipment for both ships and port facilities shown on the following papges, please note special equipment for passenger ships and terminals, e.g. X-ray equipment, CCTVs and cameras with recording ability.
